Lee Hall Water Treatment Plant
Newport News, Virginia
The project is a $75 million water treatment plant with a capacity of 60 million gallons per day. A state-of-the-art facility, project problems and schedule slippage emerged after the general contractor began experiencing financial difficulties. As the project approached completion, the work began languishing, with costs continuing to rise.
Lovett Silverman was retained to help accelerate project completion. Initial tasks included an assessment of the remaining scope of work, followed by a cost-to-complete estimate. Later the client asked Lovett Silverman to manage the project to completion, including commissioning and start-up of the new plant, close-out with subcontractors and vendors, and other project management activities.
