On this new construction project, valued at $55 million, Lovett Silverman was retained by the surety representing the concrete and masonry subcontractor on the project who was experiencing difficulties completing the work in accordance with the project schedule. Lovett Silverman conducted a performance analysis from both a construction and a financial aspect regarding completion of the concrete and masonry subcontract work.
Subsequently, the concrete and masonry subcontractor was terminated by the General Contractor. Lovett Silverman worked closely with the surety to identify and resolve payment bond claims filed against the concrete subcontractor. In addition, Lovett Silverman also provided litigation support services to assist the surety in defending a claim against the concrete/masonry subcontractor by the General Contractor, resulting in a settlement that was substantially lower than the amount initially claimed by the General Contractor.
