Lovett Silverman was engaged by the Surety to evaluate and provide an assessment of the delay and extra work scope claims by its contractor in the completion of a Level 3 containment laboratory and greenhouse facility for the United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services with an approximate contract value of $16 million. As part of the assignment, Lovett Silverman oversaw the lengthy facility commissioning and acceptance process, monitored trending and testing of the temperature control and containment systems and evaluated various design and contract completion issues. Additionally, Lovett Silverman assisted the surety and its legal counsel through settlement negotiations with the contractor.
